The Care Robotics Workshop in Trondheim
The Care Robotics Workshop in Trondheim was a great success!
On May 18–19, 2026, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and PPM Robotics AS organised an in-person workshop in Trondheim, Norway, as part of the RobustifAI project, bringing together project members and key stakeholders around the carerobotics use case.
The objective was to strengthen communication and collaboration, align ethical and technical perspectives, and identify human-centric requirements to support the development of better care robotics solutions.
Highlights:
-
Presentation by Trondheim Municipality on robotics in elderly care at Persaunet Health and Welfare Centre
-
Visit to the nursing home and live demo of INGUNN, PPM’s care robot
-
Serious game session by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology to explore values and technical solutions for human-centric robotics
-
PPM presentation on the use case and the importance of collaboration
The project had very good discussions about real-life situations in care robotics, alignment of project activities, and potential AI applications and solutions from the project.
A special thank you to Masafumi Nishi, Trygve Thomessen and Kari Jyssum for organising this event, and to AIT Austrian Institute of Technology and PPM Robotics AS for hosting and making this workshop possible!
